Las Vegas Hangover cure!
The rendering of a party piece
Recently I was asked to join Fiverr Pro. There was a little hesitation at first, due to many of the comments heard and some bad copyright issues with the site I also experienced. However, the Pro version of the site seemed to offer a better look and insight into gaining the sort of clients I was looking for. Needless to say, within the first week of being live on the site I gained my first top paid client. The aim of the Gig (as they are called) was to do a parody caricature mock-up of “The Hangover” movie poster.
“THE HANGOVER” – BRIEF
The outline of the brief was a simple idea to create an illustration for a joint party of two American friends to take place in Las Vegas. The idea was to show how wild their parties are and that it is a thing that is enjoyed and worth attending.
The basis behind the illustration was to emphasis the link with Las Vegas (the place of their party) and the movie “The Hangover“. The concept was born to do a simple render of the Zach Galifianakis character as the main host of the party. As the briefing grew the idea turned into a reworking of the main movie poster, with the tiger and chicken including, and replacing the baby with the second host of the party.
The sketch was made and the elements slowly pulled together, to add small titbits of clues to other attendees of the party. The main issue was the time frame to complete. There was only four days to get the work complete and ready for print. The artwork was going to be rendered out in my typical style, using my favourite brush for the job.

I would appreciate the follows, as in the near future I will be doing new tutorials as well as uploading many time-lapse pieces of my works.

1 creative person, slightly matured
2 tablespoons aptitude
1 piece of aesthetic flavouring
6lbs hard work and sweat
4 ideas more than most
salt of the earth to taste
Take a creative person and stir in some aptitude, thoroughly from the start. In time, mix in the aesthetic flavouring with the most appropriate tool at hand, and then, fold into the mix as much of the hard work and sweat that the mix can take. Sprinkle in the ideas; the more the better. And finally, as all is cooking, a pinch of ‘salt of the earth’ to give it the necessary character. Leave to cook over time and serve when required. Tasty treat in a tasteless world.
